Multi-sports – One of our most popular clubs, this club has seen numbers grow consistently each term. Years 1, 2 & 3 learn all the fundamentals of various sports in a fun, safe and educational environment. Sports such as; football, cricket, handball, rounders, benchball & cricket (and much more) are delivered on a weekly basis.
Year 3 & 4 Gymnastics - New for 2014, our Friday gymnastics club has been so popular that we now have a continuous development program with lower KS2 children learning new & fundamental skills within gymnastics on Tuesdays. The children will also have the opportunity to show off their routines in a group performance at the end of the year
Handball – This is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and is brand new to the school. We currently offer this club to the whole of key stage 2 where 12 participants, at the moment, are enjoying this new sport and learning new skills. We are sure this club will grow when children find out how exciting this sport is to play.
Cricket – Arguably our most consistent of clubs at the school where we have coached the same 22 children from key stage 2 for the past 12 months. Participants can learn new skills in bowling, batting and fielding in addition to learning many variations of playing the game of cricket including; kwik cricket, non-stop cricket, diamond cricket, hoop cricket and much more.
POP Lacrosse - New to 2014, POP lacrosse is an adapted version of field lacrosse designed to introduce juniors to this fast paced sport. Using adapted sticks to assist with holding, throwing & catching the ball, children will soon start to enjoy playing this game to their full potential.
Fridays (our busiest afternoon)
Football – Again, one of our more consistent after school clubs where 20+ children enjoy learning their trade within football. Fun games, tricks, small sided games and much more are just some of the ways children learn new skills. Our football coaches certainly know their game and endeavour to make this club the most fun as well as educational.
Gymnastics – Definitely our most popular club. Upper KS2 (Y5 & 6) budding gymnasts learn the art of creating team performances to music where they work in partners and in teams to create an amazing display. All gymnasts will perform to their families, the school and, more recently, at the Stretton Walking Day. A great club for developing self-confidence, personality and creativity.
We are always looking for ways to improve and enhance our after school sports clubs as well as adding to our current offerings. Please visitwww.daveearndencoaching.com (our sports provider) where you can leave messages, testimonials and feedback for all that is sport at the school.
