Topic Home Learning

Home Learning Class 1 Spring 1

This half term our topic is ‘Treasure Island’.

The home learning for this topic is outlined underneath. Please choose one activity to complete and have fun! You can return the work to school as soon as you have completed it, but would kindly request for it to be returned by Wednesday 1st February at the latest.

Please choose one of the following home learning challenges:

1. MISSING POSSIBLE – but challenging!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a shelter for lego figures. It must withstand: a 1kg weight being placed on the roof, the figures must remain dry when 200ml water is poured over the top and it should withstand a 30 second blast from an electric fan. There will be a prize for the winning shelter!

OR

2. On Purple Mash (www.purplemash.co.uk/stmatthewswa) please could the children carry out the ‘Island Map’ paint project, where they should design their own treasure island!

Home Learning               Class 1                       Autumn 1

This half term our topic is ‘All About Me’.

We have already started talking about our local area and the key features of a village or town. We will also be looking at the history of Warrington, including the history of our own school and what school was like in the past. In science, we have been looking at the human body, with a particular focus on the senses.

The home learning for this topic is outlined underneath. Please choose one activity to complete and have fun! You can return the work to school as soon as you have completed it but would kindly request for it to be returned by Monday 13th October.

Please choose one of the following home learning challenges:

1. On Purple Mash (www.purplemash.co.uk/stmatthewswa) please could the children carry out the Paint Project: My Body. This can be found by clicking on ‘Topics’ / ‘Science’ / ‘About Me’.

2. Please could the children research their local area and produce a map or model of their route to school.

If you have any questions or queries regarding the home learning, please do not hesitate to ask!
